Folding Skateboard Concept
This was a concept design for a last-mile transport option that would be appealing for users who are not a part of the traditional skateboarding cultural community.

In the last decade, there has been a surge in the popularity of skateboarding as a means of commuting, there have been a number of factors affecting this. Increasing public acceptance; desire for carbon neutral transport modes and active lifestyles; shorter commutes due to urban density and the ease of integrating skateboard travel with other transport modes. These are all cited as factors. Additionally, electric skateboards are becoming more widely utilised and are capable of reducing some of the disadvantages of regular skateboards enabling their use on longer and more inclined journeys.
I carried out a short exploratory project culminating in this design for a compact and modern folding skateboard, featuring materials carried over from the interior design world.
