Solar Vending Cart
A modular vending cart designed for localised manufacture in NIgeria. The cart would supply solar electricty to charge cell phones for users who don't have reliable grid access.
Project initiated by nigerian entrepreneur to design a modular vending cart to be manufactured locally in Nigeria. Offering portable electricity without relying on the grid, the design should be versatile and adaptable to the needs of Nigeria's micro-entrepreneurs acting as a platform for a variety of business' requiring the use of stable electrity generation. The principal use case is mass charging of cell phones, a pressing need in many parts of Nigeria.
This project involved significant research covering the local nigerian environment, needs of the end users, manufacturing methods, charging and power storage systems. Several options were explored in depth.
The model underwent several significant iterations, with several major component revisions included.
Modelled in solidworks with extensive use of the sheet metal plug-in.
